Chicken Chaap

Indian recipe chicken chaap is very delicious. Try this recipe in your own kitchen and enjoy.

Chicken Chaap



Ingredients

  • Chicken (with bone 1 kg)
  • Hung Curd (1 cup)
  • Onion (2 big size, cut slice)
  • Ginger Paste (1 tbsp)
  • Garlic Paste (2 tbsp)
  • Kashmiri Red Chili Powder (2/3 tbsp)
  • Red Chili Powder
  • Coriander Powder (1 tsp)
  • Salt
  • Sugar (1/4 tsp)
  • Poppy Seeds  (2 tbsp)
  • Whole Cashew Nuts
  • Water  (1/2 Cup)
  • Cardamoms (4 to 6)
  • Cinnamon Stick (1 inch)
  • Clove (4 to 6)
  • Mace( Jayitri) (3 to 4 blades)
  • Star Anise (1 to 2)
  • Ghee (2 tbsp)
  • Oil (4 to5 tbsp)
  • Kewra Water (2 to 3 drops)


Instruction

  1. At first douse the poppy seeds and cashews in 1 mug of water for 30 minutes and then make a smooth paste.
  2. Then make a smooth powder of cinnamon-cloves-cardamoms- mace- star anise and keep aside.
  3. After that wash the chicken pieces in warm water and pat dry using tissue or kitchen towel.
  4. Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger & garlic paste, hung curd, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chili powder and coriander powder. Keep it  for 3 to 4 hours in fridge.
  5. Then fry the sliced onion until brown in colour. Make a paste of it.
  6. Take a profound bottomed vessel and add oil and ghee.
  7. Then add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on high flame.
  8. Then add the spices powder and fry onions paste which you made and cook for few minutes on low heat until oil begins to turn out from side.
  9. Add requiring salt and sugar.
  10. After that add the paste of poppy seeds and cashews.
  11. Cook it until chicken pieces turn into delicate.
  12. At last add the kewra water. And serve it with biryani, nun or roti.
