- Chicken (with bone 1 kg)
- Hung Curd (1 cup)
- Onion (2 big size, cut slice)
- Ginger Paste (1 tbsp)
- Garlic Paste (2 tbsp)
- Kashmiri Red Chili Powder (2/3 tbsp)
- Red Chili Powder
- Coriander Powder (1 tsp)
- Salt
- Sugar (1/4 tsp)
- Poppy Seeds (2 tbsp)
- Whole Cashew Nuts
- Water (1/2 Cup)
- Cardamoms (4 to 6)
- Cinnamon Stick (1 inch)
- Clove (4 to 6)
- Mace( Jayitri) (3 to 4 blades)
- Star Anise (1 to 2)
- Ghee (2 tbsp)
- Oil (4 to5 tbsp)
- Kewra Water (2 to 3 drops)
Instruction
- At first douse the poppy seeds and cashews in 1 mug of water for 30 minutes and then make a smooth paste.
- Then make a smooth powder of cinnamon-cloves-cardamoms- mace- star anise and keep aside.
- After that wash the chicken pieces in warm water and pat dry using tissue or kitchen towel.
- Marinate the chicken pieces with ginger & garlic paste, hung curd, red chilli powder, kashmiri red chili powder and coriander powder. Keep it for 3 to 4 hours in fridge.
- Then fry the sliced onion until brown in colour. Make a paste of it.
- Take a profound bottomed vessel and add oil and ghee.
- Then add the marinated chicken pieces and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on high flame.
- Then add the spices powder and fry onions paste which you made and cook for few minutes on low heat until oil begins to turn out from side.
- Add requiring salt and sugar.
- After that add the paste of poppy seeds and cashews.
- Cook it until chicken pieces turn into delicate.
- At last add the kewra water. And serve it with biryani, nun or roti.
